My Black Copper roo was pretty obvious by his comb from the beginning, he had some brownish tinting on his wing, but was basically black until he got weeks older....the pullets were way blacker with only hints of the copper til they were well feathered out, then the glints turned more pronounced. Laurenlulu, the amount of copper varies from breeder to breeder, and bird to bird. Some have more copper than they should, some don't have as much as is desired. Some chicks start showing signs early, others it takes longer. Feel free to post pics. But be patient. Time will tell.

Well I got my first BC marans egg today from my 6 month old

and it's nice but leaves a little to be desired (I think). Tell me what you think please! It has a very nice speckle to it. Looks like she may have potential!?! Here are some pics.
