yes, all cuckoos have spots, male and females, the size of the spot helps you tell the difference

I have 6 baby Cuckoos & 1 baby BC out!! And more pipping & zipping!!

My BC boy is getting super huge now and a lot more copper in his hackle - but he is also getting some white feathers. Is this normal and will they grow out eventually?

Here are two 5 week olds..I could easily tell the other two pair from hatching..These two's combs have grown at different rates than the last four it "seems"..One is a little bit larger than the other and has just a hint of pink to it?? What do you think? Maybe some of you folks with more marans exp could point me in the right direction..

I have spoken to a few people about the white feathers in the Black Copper Rooster wings - and been told not to panic about it. They are a disqualification for show purposes, but not necessarily permanent. I dont recall who I spoke to, but it was someone who had had Black Coppers much longer - that said that after the First molt at least, the true feathers would come in, and often the white feathers would not still be there. Mine still carries one white wing feather, I am waiting for another molt, he may lose that one yet!! Otherwise, I think he is a pretty bird. Of course, no white feathers would be most desireable, and if you had a choice? I dont, I got one roo and the rest were girls!
