I found this quote on the French Marans Club site:

"The blue color variety seems to have been existing in the Marans since its origins, i.e since the first crossing with its english ruff ancestors."

I was wondering the same thing about the blue color, but thats answers it all for me. Oh ya and that comb info was very informative as well. Thank you to those posters who did the research!

Drom.....We have an answer! The front one counts as a point but the back one (the blade) ) does not count. Thank You Hinkjc!

Excellent work Pinkchick. I am going to go count some comb points.

I did nothing...... it is all owed to Hinkjc. Thanks Hinkjc! ***EDITED TO SAY*** Thanks to Chris09 who posted the illustration too.

It's good to know.......I was out counting combs earlier this evening. Like hitting a moving target unless you catch everyone of them!

Drom-
Don't feel bad I came up with some 6's as well. You know counting that little front point really throws a wrench in to things!

3chickens......it was finally answered. Couple of peeps posted an illustration. I believe the illustration is posted in this thread a page back or in another thread that I posted .....I think its called BCM comb question. Hope it helps!

Lisa!

Sorry, I just noticed your post in all of the posts this morning! And I have no answer. There is some recent speculation that you may be able to tell the boys from the girls on the Black Coppers by their foot color though!
I dont have Blue Coppers myself now, but yours look nice.
Hopefully someone will pipe in for you - take care,
Tina
