my husband is gonna disown me.. lol.. he still doesn't know the cuckoo's are coming.... or the eggs from nov egg swap... and yesterday he said.. "why are there duck eggs in teh incubator??? we do not need more ducks... " lol.. he doesn't care that the boys will be lonley.. he thinks the girls are ugly and only wants the drakes... lol...
but if i get a couple good marans i can make money from the eggs... yeah.. that's it...
i ssoo can not wait to get a roo and breed him with my lucy for olive eggers...
They are all Black Copper Marans. I am not the expert yet to say if they will be show quality or not. I just love how these birds look and even more the egg color they hatched out just wowed me.
Unfortunately, I just got back from Las Vegas a few weeks ago. But hey, San Diego has a lot to offer for you and your family (not only chickens ......). I am really looking forward to some nice dark eggs in my nest boxes next spring and maybe in the following generation to some olive eggers.
