These eggs come from the parent stock of my baby Black Coppers. If the babies grow up and do as good as the parents, I will be very pleased.

Black or Pearl eyes are a disqualification in all varieties of Marans. The correct colour is an orangey-red,
bay or brown eyes are a defect.

Kathyinmo... I can't see his eye color but I can say I believe it to be a light orange. This rooster is Very Very close to the color balance you are seeking. If it were not for the tail... (ack) or it could be the pic or he is in molt... I am hoping this is the case. He would be a suitable gent in the slightly, ever so slightly too red catagory and would be acceptable.... The tail just get me...If you have something like this with a more correct tail I would keep it over many other selections. He seems to have the proper balance just slightly tipped in the too red/copper direction... Definetly Something to work with here.
