I have 3 10 week old Black Copper Marans. 1 is a cockerel. Tonight I noticed it looked like the cockerel broke his leg. But upon further inspection, I don't think that's the case. He has 1 leg where his foot is pointed out to the side instead of infront of him. And this leg now directly sits underneath him. He has to move his good leg out and around the one in question to be able to walk. In checking him out I noticed I have a hen with the exact same issue. I bought them at 2 weeks of age, and never noticed any issue with them until today. And I am out with my chickens at least 2xs a day, every day.
Does anyone know what causes this/what I should do? Did they happen to both hurt themselves the exact same way on the same day or is this maybe an issue of genetics?
Thanks.
