Hi there would like to join this hatch along as I have some eggs in the incubator (barred rock x isa red) but I am tempted to incubate some duck eggs too from my call duck x magpies does this in anyone’s opinion look fertile? I would imagine they mate when I don’t look but I’ve noticed the drakes mating with other ducks? Thanks and can’t wait to seee what they look like

I'm far from an expert but I would say yes.

Just put some in the incubator very curious what they will look like! I agree duckling are definitely amazing!

Day 21.

5 hatched yesterday and moved into the brooder this morning. No progress on the 3 eggs still in the incubator.

My last egg is still alive but no internal pip. I’m calling it tonight so I can clean the hatcher and prep for a Wednesday lockdown/Thursday hatch next week!! Final results, 19/22.

Today is day 19, moved the eggs to the hatcher and bumped humidity to 77, first EE just hatched 6 others have pipped so excited, cant stop watching!!!

My new rooster just mounted my leghorn hen, then my NN hen went up to him demanding to be next. He said..."I will think about it."

My group of 15 (I did extras expecting to loose some early on) that I put in my homemade incubator were all still quite active at lockdown. I now have two pipped and a few chirping away. Excited to see how many complete the trial, since this was a test run.
