I got these eggs from a near by farm, They were collected fresh, (not all the dark ones are BCM) The green are isbars. Going for Easter hatch. setting on the 11th along with hopefully my frizzle's eggs mixed with SFH rooster.

A friend gave me 23 pullets for 1. ea. Welsummer, Novogen, and EE. I am going to raise them and then a diff friend will get 13 when they don't need heat.

I have the cabinet incubator in full swing currently. I have 18 or eggs due to hatch 3/12. Mostly Belgian Bearded d'Uccle and 3 Modern Game Bantams. I set about 18 more d'Uccle on 2/27 that will be due 3/20. What I am most excited about are my first Call Ducks eggs. I set 3 on 3/1 that are on day 6 right now. 2 of them for sure have embryos. I set 2 more last night. I am only getting about 2 a week right now so I am hatching them as I get them. They are in my cabinet as well. Really anxious to see how they do. This is my first spring with Calls and my first time with this incubator so really hoping for a successful hatch

Saved by an odd smell!!!! I was checking on the day 11 eggs and decided to peek @ the day 17 tray -I got a whiff of...something. Stuck my nose close to the tray and paid close attention but didn’t quite catch which egg it was. Carefully candled each one and found a Black Copper Marans egg that wasn’t black and full on the bottom. Sniff, sniff! Voila!!! I had my culprit! Brought it upstairs and cracked it open inside a plastic baggy. The baby was decomposing, maybe only an inch long. I couldn’t even see a beak or feet.
Anyways. I’m really happy the booger didn’t explode in my incubator!

Currently have 12 duck eggs incubating but I think 2 are going to be pulled at the end of the first 7 days. I will be adding in 31 chicken eggs on Thursday. The eggs are all laid by my chickens. Several different types of hens but only one rooster who is a Lavender Orpington. My crosses with him are always very interesting, can't wait to see what I get...

Be sure to warm up the eggs before putting them in with the duck eggs.
They have been in a dark drawer in the same room as the incubator for several days and tilted every day in a different direction. Every day I switch out the oldest eggs in my collection for the new ones laid that day so I will have the freshest eggs when I put them in the incubator but they will all have been in the house for at least 24 hours prior to going in.

not for the eggs that are going in the incubator for the eggs that ARE in the incubator, adding even room temp eggs to an egg incubator that is 99.6...brr. (no ego here just thinking of the little duck-ducks.)
