Set yesterday... 7 EE and 4 jersey giants with a Sapphire Super Blue Roo... hoping for pullets with beautiful color eggs...

Well, yesterday was day 7 so I weighed and candled my eggs. Good news: all 13 are developing. Bad news: the 10 that are in my more trusted incubator have supposedly lost around 1/3 of their starting weight, even though humidity has been in the 40s. The three in the less trusted incubator, which is also in the 40s, are right on target with around 4% weight loss. Don't get how that's possible, and don't know what to do now :(

Nice- TJB
My original group included the blue egg, I was not going to set it because of a loose air cell but changed my mind.

here they are in the incubator, the blue in a cardboard holder, with holes punched in cardboard, one extra egg from my coop, (prolly a clear)

Firing up my little incubator, incase I want to heat up more coop eggs to add.

I'm a bit late to the hatchalong but I'll share my excitement anyway. I have 16 eggs on day 20. Two pips this morning. I have 2 eggs damaged early in incubation. Repaired with candle wax and both seemed to have developed normally.

And the Mamas and the Papas. Just cuz.

I was out in coop area, and the rooster I got a couple of days ago bumped into the avatar's daughter, and she went down for him. that either means she is willing, or has already mated with him. which is a good thing, since they are what this hatch is about.

Day 21. Five babies are out including 1/2 repaired eggs! One hatched yesterday the rest hatched early this morning. Four yellow and one yellow with racing stripes.

Now I need to get my kids off to school so I can set up the brooder and watch chicks hatch!
