March 2023 hatch-a-long

13 eggs for sure developing, (12 green eggs from one store)
+ one blue egg from the health food store. The dark brown is questionable, but I am not ready to toss it or 3 too dark to read, I am still hanging on to. I will candle again, maybe they will go Mon. if no signs. Darned health food eggs.

I now think I have a broody..... Started yesterday so giving her time to see if fully broody or not...... If she stays broody I may give her some of my frizzle eggs to see if they are fertilized since the couple I think were hers in the incubator weren't (but I have 3-4 that lay very very similar eggs) and I have people wanting her eggs so would be nice to know the boys are doing their job with her! Then I have an EE that lays a beautiful teal egg so thinking about putting some of hers in but not sure she likes the boys much either........ But think either her with my Blue Cochin roo or my splash project Cochin roo (green egg gene) would make babies that lay pretty eggs.

Can some that have weighed their eggs and also marked air cells that have the correct % of weight loss post up some pics of marked air cells on day 7 and 14 please (if you have them before lockdown those as well). I didn't weigh mine this time since I had a time crunch to set them. I am marking air cells but then always get nervous that they are too small. I have looked up pictures and they always show them angled on the eggs and mine aren't angled really until around lockdown so I can't tell how mine look compared to those.

thank you so much for the information
i will do that for this hatch :)
Here’s a cut down carton from last year. You could cut it more than I did even, I think my hand was just getting tired since this was my big hatch last year, but they were fine. I believe this carton had the taller parts in the middle so I cut those off. I have used the styrofoam ones also, those have less of that so I didn’t cut them as much. But I used them from start to finish before I had an egg turner. I would just put a small book under one end and switch it several times a day. View attachment 3421355

Tomorrow is my day 14. I can show you a few pics then. I drew day 7 & 10 so they’ll have 3 lines.
