March 2023 hatch-a-long

I didn’t see mine wiggle, but I had them all pointing the same direction last night and one was moved this morning.

Wiggling means getting into position. Then needs to internally pip before external pip. But you are getting close. I haven't been lucky enough to see them wiggle.

Thanks. One of the eggs has done a quarter turn it has wiggled so much. I'm just hoping they are okay.

I have two eggs wiggling alot today. Am i likely to see a pip soon. Its day 19.

Ha!! Us too, one of our blue eggs was rocking and rolling a few minutes ago. We'll be locking down this evening. Hubby is leaving tomorrow for a week, so I'm a little nervous about doing this alone. I have to work, so hoping things go well and no one needs help. I get anxious during hatch.

Fun! I saw mine wiggling a lot last hatch! One of mine externally pipped 12 hours before my official day 20. It was a Polish. My first one hatched 12 hours into day 20 and was a different egg the first one that pipped was shortly after that.

That’s good info! So the first one took 24 hours from pip to hatch! I always wonder…are they ok in there?

To be honest I wasn’t counting the hours at the time it was chaotic between hatching and working but when I went back to check my pictures I realized it was a full 24. That chick is still doing well in the brooder

I’ve had some last a full 24 hrs, and some that start zipping and are out in minutes!

I put my first batch of eggs in the Hatcher now I impatiently wait.

I haven't been feeling well the last few days with pollen and asthma, but I've pulled 3 and locked down 15.

2 quitters and one that I had been pretty sure was clear but was dark enough to call dubious at the previous candles.

I still can't see anything but the air cell on the olive eggs.
