I rushed home today after work expecting to find new pips and chicks but was DEVISTATED to find the incubator was at 106!!!!!!!!!! For all I know it was like that for hours. One of the eggs was moving this morning but there are currently no sounds or pips.

Incubator is now adjusted and holding at 100/102 and 60ish humidity

ANY advice on additional course of action?

Day 21 was yesterday. I candled the eggs last night. One internal pip found. No signs of movement on any of them. I've read a bunch of the resources on hatching (hatching 101, hatching assistance, common issues). But I dont know what the course of action is to take if on hatch day the temp spikes to 106 on a still air for an extended period of time.

Anyone? Please help, would really appreaciate any input.

I don't think theres much you can do at this point, other than wait them out and see if they hatch

Here are my 2 little fluff balls. I'm a little worried about that tiny blue/black one. It's getting around, but its SO small. The splash, while still small, is what I'd call normal size for a Silkie/Sizzle chick. The dark one is about half it's size. I pulled the rest of the eggs, they were all dead. One of them had made an external pip, but it was way below the air cell, so it didn't make it. I have 2 more eggs left in the hatcher, I did a staggered hatch. I think one of them has already passed (no veins or movement), the other is moving around and has veins though, so hopefully it makes it!

They're still not fluffy and cute yet, but I had to move those other 2 eggs over to the hatcher, so I went ahead and pulled them out of the 'bator, put them in the brooder and candled the remaining eggs while I was in there.

We've had 8 eggs hatch over day 19 and 20. Today is day 21 and we don't have so much as a pip yet from the other 32 eggs. Come on little peepers!

8 made it to lock-down. Candled before I put them in and saw movement in all of them. I cannot wait! This is my first hatch with my new incubator and I didnt think it would go as well as it is now. I just hope they hatch. This is only my fourth hatch. My first three did not go so well. Each hatch many eggs made it to lock-down but only one hatched, Had a cheep Styrofoam incubator that broke right away.

I just hope that this time it works out.

Yep thats pretty much the plan... I was just wondering for this situation when I should do a float test (now, before I "trash" eggs, etc).

My biggest concern is that I have two that haven't pipped internally and the air pocket looks to be an odd shape quite large. Leading me to think that the membrane could be dried inside... so I'm wondering if intervention on these one specifically might be the proper course.

I figure I'll give the one with the internal pip until I get home tonight from work and re-evaluate

All others the plan is to leave for another day or two then revisit progress/options.
