I had this too. I waited nearly 24 hours before assisting. At that point, the chick hadn't made any progress in 15 hours and the membrane was solid white. I had to moisten to check for veins and when there was none, I had to release just enough shell and membrane so the chick could get it's head out. Then I let it do the rest. Mine was completely upside down, thinking the small end was the big end. I have seen photos from others where the chick pips between it's legs and is folded such that it can't get out and you have to help more. Just make sure it's progressing and your humidity is good. Our hatch has started, it is only day 19. I have four external pips as of right now, one is coming breech, anything I should watch for on this one?
Thanks RO
