I took a break lastfall..stopped hatching about June or so It was hard.Refused to once again have eggs being laid and cocks crowing in my bathroom in March hahaWhat a mess that was.Just set my silkies eggs.You been on all w intter.Been setting all winter?

my husband keeps reminding me that he'd rather not have chicks in the house all winter ever again!!!

I totally agree I'm over the chick fuzz every where
I have Blue and BC Marans due this weekend
frizzled AM's and frizzled polish in a week or so
I might incubate guinea's when they start laying but my flock is complete so I'm going to just be selling hatching and eating eggs

Hi everyone! I have 2 incubators running 5 days apart with Belgian Malines eggs. Due to hatch March 21 & 26. I hatched 4 chicks 2 weeks ago & need to get my numbers up!

Mine aren't hatching til April, but I thought I join this one & April's just to follow my hatch buddies! Lol
Setting mine in a day or two. Dusting off the bator today

I've never had 1 like this survive, but I also don't go to extremes to save them @Sally Sunshine has some really great links in her signature that deal with things like this. You could also pm her these pix & she would likely send you links to the exact info you need.

I haven't either. It didn't absorb everything for some reason, and it hatched while it was like this. Interesting. I am worried that the diaper thing may cause the legs to splay. ??

CYNTHIA if thats what it is it does need to dry up to come off might cut it off if it drys at the end make it shorter so he can walk but needs to be dry.He has a good chance if it can dry up before infection sets in
.Any way you can cut the diaper in the leg area narrower?Your right could force his legs too far apart and ive heard they get their walking down pat rhe first few days..not sure if thats true but they do say you can correct leg prolems but has to be started the first 3 days so it could hamper his leg shape possibly.

Had a laced Brahna pair but his mate died
.. then new chicks im hatching from my Silkies A few others id really like to have but already have too many.
One silki e went broody too on a few more silkie eggs .They are due the 29 th My incubating ones due April 1. silkies and EEs.Dont know why i set them.
