March Hatch-A-Long.( How is it gettting here so quick ? LOL )

if he can't be a team player then build it yourself :thumbsup

Lol I may try it next spring. We just finished building a bantam pen for my choc Orps, then the eggs turned out scrambled, so switched it to a sizzle project pen. Still working out kinks. Then his dad have is 1 week to pen up my turkeys or he was gonna shoot my tom cause "Oreo" kept going down there pooping on his front stoop. And they do not live THAT close. Lol So, we had to immediately start a turkey pen. We JUST finished the "house" part today finally, and the brooder cage/ quarantine cage for the bantam pen. He's worn out!! LMBO Spent every day he's had off for 3 1/2 weeks working harder than he usually does at work, just so I can have my hobby. So, Idt I'm even gonna mention another anytime soon. Or he may leave me!!! :D

Just finished candling on day 14, I had three "early quitters", leaving me with 23 good looking developing eggs. Very happy with this progress so far. Only 4 days to lock down.

Thanks again Shellz for the foil tip, I was able to see better into the eggs tonight by holding them at a 45 degree angle to the light. It was great, all of my olive, green and blue eggs seemed well developed was even able to see movement in a couple of the olive eggs.

Day 7 on my 14 shipped BLRW. These were detached when they arrived.. good packaging, etc. Dry hatch. 11 of 14 appear to have veining and movement, 1 looks clear and the other 2 are questionable (either they have veining and I can't see it, or possibly early quitters).
just 2 weeks to go!

~~LOVING my new Genesis!!! Just did my candles. Day 7 had 1 blood ring of 10 set. Day 14 had 1 early quitter of 22 that were fertile!!

This is by far the best ever day 14 percentage I've ever had!

Lockdown on that set is Tuesday and I still haven't made or bought anything to separate them! OOPS. AND I still don't have a hygrometer for my hatcher!!!

I HAVE to find one b4 then. I'm afraid I'm going to mess up what seems like it'll be a really good hatch! I think someone said something about a cigar store having them?? Would that be just a smoke shop type place, or a special store that sells expensive cigars??

11 chicks hatched so far. Set 47 & 30 made it to lockdown. I have a defective genesis unit, as you can see by the condensation forming under the control center. (When not defective, these units are quite reliable) I need to find a way to fix it. I bought it new with an egg turner as well. Both were broken. Turner needed a new motor, which was a cheap fix for GQF, but the incubator top was too much for them to ship a new one to Canada. :( Anyone have an idea how to fix a broken seal on this thing? In the meantime, I have a Brinsea coming next week from a Canadian company who honors their warranties here. ;)

Shellz! Lots of babies already here, and more coming your way! Congratulations! Pretty cute.

Is the Brinsea that you have coming a large bator, like this one you have? Sorry about that darn top. Better guarantee is needed with such a large company for sure!

My 4 NN's went into lock down this morning. Getting the humidity right for the rest of the morning.

Thanks Cynthia. :) I should've waited to incubate if I wanted a better hatch though. Winter has been such a drag. :tongue

Getting another table top unit. The Octagon 40. Set it & forget it! ;)
There needs to be better accountability somewhere with the GQF units that are bought at Canadian poultry supply places/hatcheries. It's not fair to get a damaged unit.

Thanks Cynthia.
