22 Eggs
And 22 Hatched and are Alive!
I am so excited and a bit shocked!
I took him to the vet college hospital, and they took him in for the night, saying it is an infection that most birds don't make it from, but of course most people don't take them in, so... I know he is alive this morning, since the vet called, but the exotic/wild bird specialist still has to examine him and they will call back when they have a decision on what to do next.It looks like part of the yolk sack that wasn't absorbed. How is the chick acting? It looks like it is already drying up. I would clean the area and put some neosporin on it and see what happens.
I don't go in to lockdown until next week so I will still be here Ooohh-ing and Aaaahh-ing over your photos.
That is great that your hubby is so motivated! For me, it is one day of convincing and three months of "getting it done".O, how right you are!!! I am already planning and on a waiting list for my next eggs and the eggs after that!!!! Sultans and Coronation Sussex next
.... and peafowl after that
I did prepair for this somewhat hehe as when I had my hubby build my current coop I had him built it for up to 50 chickens and in a design so that I can just keep adding coops on to either side ...pretty much forever
.... and somehow I got myself to stop at 25 chickens last year!!! I think money had something to do with it![]()

my hubby is a carpenter so we get alot of free extra stuff from job sites so all I have to do is motivate him...... like 3 months of convincing and then he does it all in one day.... so even now I am already puching for an 'add-on' the coopJust like we talked bout .... remember![]()
