March Hatch-Along Thread- Come Hatch With Us!!!!!

My Serama eggs are due on the 21st in the morning. It's so squished in the BMA - somehow I managed to fit 17... Don't even ask, lol. Hoping to be able to eventually put the turning tray back in, but maybe I'll get lucky and have more develop? Crossing my fingers. My friends call me the "Master Hatcher" after the 100% hatch last time... But I'm positive that won't happen ever again, lol.

Appreciate the tips! And yes I did let them sit in the egg cartons for about 8 hours to stabilize. I do have some knowledge incubating from my past farming and FFA days, but this is my first time actually doing it myself and I did a bit of research online and that's what led me here to BYC :) My wife say's I've become obsessed with chickens LOL
Well then you're in the right place! We're all obsessed with them here

Pug that happened to me too. Last July when I built my first bator and only wanted to hatch out some chickens for eating eggs. I now have over 100 chickens. At least I have pretty much stopped buying eggs. I have all the breeds I want and the first sets that I hatched are starting to lay eggs.

I'm on day 7 with duck eggs & 2 of them I can't see anything thing in when I candle. I got 9 Aussie spotted shipped & the post office annihilated them so only 2 of the 7 I can see are developing and only 1 of those is for sure continuing to develop. So I don't have high hopes for the 2 I can't see in. My question is what do u all do about those eggs? I didn't know about the whole weighing thing til today so could I start now or do u just do the smell test? I don't want them to contaminate the rest of the hatch because I have 8 of my runners eggs in there too.

Wow. Y'all have been posting like crazy. I just got caught up on feb hatches and have 3 PGA on here.
I have been so busy and sick and have to pack to leave for Tulsa for the weekend. Anyways. I have a hen that has decided to go broody so told everyone to leave her alone while I am gone. My hatches are due on 7 and 10th. I am so nervous. And I am setting eggs for Easter hatch a long. I need to decide what I am going to hatch for that one.

Good luck to everyone setting eggs!
