March Hatch-Along Thread- Come Hatch With Us!!!!!

I actually just let mine rest for 3 days and that was sufficient. My aircells were only a little wobbly though.
This is always what I've been told. But if they are really bad from shipping is 4-5 days better for reattachment? Are there any possible problems from not turning them that long? Now I'm wondering if I would of let mine sit for that long instead maybe I would have had more develope.

I don't understand what you are saying by keeping the temp lower due to the turner raising the eggs.I would keep a thermometer on the level of the eggs and regulate at 99.5 no matter what.

Makes sense, I just never had a decent thermometer to put on top of the eggs. I just know that when I first tried the turner, had the thermometer on the side that sat right up close to the top of the eggs in height, but those eggs were hot when it read 99. :D

You know, I don't think more time is better. I've incubated shipped eggs and had them sit unturned for a week and only got 1 baby. The key is to incubate them upright in cartons, I think that's your best bet. I think turning is really important during the first week, which is why I only way a few days. My aircells are quite settled now.

LOL. well I have 32 eggs going on lockdown Tuesday that were all hand turned on their sides and for whatever reason (coincidence probably) my continue to grow rate is a lot higher than my upright egg turner turned hatch. It seems more natural to have them on their sides. I dunno. Anything better than what happened this week is a blessing though!!

Yeah the upright position is more for shipped eggs with bad aircells :). All of mine had wiggly aircells, so I set them upright to make sure they stay where they need to be.

Yeah I just candled mine with the high light and I have 6 with floating air cells. They will be going in in a carton for sure. Bleh.
