Its hard not to incubate and just watch (you are someone with sense unlike me) but it is fun to  get  exited for others as they are so excited  about their hatch Almost like your own.

MY GOOD news today besides the the new baby chick .is FINALLY my Gold Laced Brahma laid an egg!

AND Found why my 14 Light Brahma eggs werent fertile at day 10 ....It was muddy yesterday and i notice ONLY ONE of the Light Brahma girls had mud on her back!!
He has a special main squeeze DARN! He needs to get a little less discriminating.!
I MIGHt have one or even 2 (if im lucky) that will hatch. LUCKY being the key word.

My son just had 19 pulled friday b/c of needing root canals and some way too bad .

Brook do you sell the toothpaste too? That hand lotion bar is AMAZING Nothing ever worked so well on my sandpaper dry hands and finger cracks EVER.
Outside chicken maintenance and ice cold weather do a number on them for sure

Never thought about selling it. It is too easy to make. Takes about 5 minutes and you have a few months worth. I just mix it all up in a little gladware container. Snap the lid on and am good to go.

I just looked at the incubator and noticed the temp was down to 90. Is this to low? I'm on day 5 and not sure how long its been that low

Yes that is too low it should be 99.5-100
Just raise it a tad and that should be good but be careful when turning up the heat you don't want to get it too hot when I turn my temp knob I keep a real close eye on the temp for about 6 hrs

Opened up the expensive BCM eggs and yep, not even fertile. They were so perfect I could have eaten them...erm... not that I would have. I wrote the guy, the owner of the hatchery (it's a small local place) to let him know. Kind of sad that all of my mutt eggs are all alive and they came free but isn't that the way it works?

Not sure where you picked up the BCMs... But there is a listing on Craigslist for hatching eggs not too far (Otsego) http://kalamazoo.craigslist.org/grd/3628600842.html. He's selling BCM's for $1 ea or 6 for $5. ??? I had emailed him last week to check on BCMs, Polish, & Frizzle, but haven't picked up any since I decided not to put any under my broody. I'm not sure of the quality of them, but they might be worth a try. I do know that they aren't currently getting any Polish or Frizzle eggs, but they did have the BCMs. This price seems much better than the guy (Ada) that wants $30/doz.

Turkeys are doing well! Woke up and found 3 turkeys in the incubator wondering what it's all about. T

wo more are working on it and I'll just have to wait on the rest although I am pretty sure two eggs are undeveloped.

Day 21 for 24 of my own eggs. Woke up to 2 just hatched and 3 more pipped.

Pictures. Can't wait to see pictures. I'm heading out to see if I can find some of the bedding you are talking about. 5 dollars or a little more isn't bad at all!
