wow you did have a good day!!! The puppies are precious! 4-6oz is fat! When mine were born last yr the biggest was just under 3oz, he was the tubby LOL the others were 2oz & 2.5

Ok so nothing else is happening to the one that has pipped and I can't see anymore action on the rest. I am noticing a slight stinky smell from the bator. It hasn't gotten any worse, I dnt see any tell tail signs of nasty eggs, so right now I'm not going to worry about it.

I'm glad it's almost bed time ....I'm getting really nervous :idunno

Hi everyone, Congratulations on all your successful hatches.

Update: Candled my eggs again late last night (day 14) and definitely have movement in 6 eggs. Yaay!!!!!!!!! Took out 4 clears. Think I may have one quitter but decided to leave it in until lock down at least, just in case. The 'dark' blob is about half the size of the others, couldn't see any veining at all and no movement. Pretty sure this one is a gonner but want to be careful as this is my first time hatching. So, out of the original 12 eggs put into the bator, I'm left with 6 live chicks on day 14.......ohhh.....hatch day can't come soon enough for me now! All the air sacs SEEM to be the right size....maybe a teeny bit smaller. If they are a tiny bit smaller will this matter much? My humidity level is around 30-35, but there is a LOT of variance downwards during the day. Mostly overnight the humidity hits a low of 10%. I'm thinking this 10-35% range is ok for the first 18 days? Can someone please just confirm this for me. Many thanks friends.
I wouldn't let the humidity go below 10% it can make the babies sticky and shrink wrap. Try not to let it drop below 25%. But other that your humidity is good for "Dry Incubation" :)

So I'm feeding up the animals and checking on my sitting duck hen and there's a broken egg at the front of the dog house (I had one of those nice two piece plastic dog houses so I put some hay in it and one of the duck hens thought it was ok.), so I check it out, it's a egg shell that has had a chick come out of it. So, can you tell which is the ugly chick? (The Ameraucanas hatched yesterday for me)

btw, it's not a duck. Our goose had laid some eggs and I believe our horse scared her off the nest so I collected them (there were only 3) and since one of my muscovy hens was laying in the dog house, when she left to eat one evening, I quick snuck the three eggs into her nest. According to my impromptu math on hatching dates, the goose eggs were to start hatching yesterday and since I couldn't catch her off the nest to sneak the eggs back out to put in my brooder, I have this one. Now, I'm unsure of exactly when her eggs (duck) should start hatching, so that she won't get off her nest now and leave her eggs, I'm going to pull the goslings. She was real happy with the intrusion, but I was able to pet her and talk to her and she didn't freak out or nything.

If it is a rotten smell you need to sniff each egg ASAP and take out the bad egg. If there is a bad egg in there it could kill all the other chicks in there, and possibly blow up.

I have two hatchers running.....one with my Swedish Flower Hen eggs and one with SLW eggs. This is the first time I've done seperate breeds in seperate hatchers, so it's sort of become like a competition, lol. So far the SFH's are ahead - one hatched, several pips. SLWs are behind with three pips, but they're good ones!
