March Hatch-Along Thread- Come Hatch With Us!!!!!

External pip is within 24 hours of internally pipping, and no since the shell hasn't been breached yet they should be fine.

Oh my goodness... The one that internally pipped CHIRPED at me... I can hardly contain myself any longer. The funny thing about this one is is that when I numbered my eggs, this one was number 1 - and it's the first to internally pip. What a coincidence.

HI,
A little off topic but wanted to share you are not alone with illness.............and the chickens save me from allowing myself to be controlled by thinking about my problems and pain.
They make me laugh, get up and move when I do not feel like it,and generally warm my heart................
Nothing perks me up like one of my pet hens wanting to be picked up and carried around or watching Mr. Roo care for his hens and chicks...........
Not to forget the great company we share here................
Glad you are here and good luck...................:D
Watching my babies are so relaxing. I can sit in my coop for hours with no phone. They love me unconditionally and when my kids are at school they keep me company. I show pics to everyone saying " wanna see my babies".
I built a new coop today. I will put a pic up of it. It was enjoyable building it because I know my new babies are going to love it. I am already planing the next build.

Is'nt that just the most amazing sound after staring at the eggs for 20+ days! Makes my heart flutter.

Alright....Finally some photos - Sorry they are w/ my cell, as I kept forgetting to put my camera battery on charge(it is now though)
So far 8 quail have hatched. I had to help the most recent one out as it had severely curled under feet.
sad.png
I have taped them flat & wrapped a bit around the ankle to make it harder for it to re curl under it's feet so I'll give it a few days, if it doesn't get straightened out then the best thing for it is to send it off to quail heaven. Have 10 EEs & 1 JB. Here are some photos! The larger quail is only a day-2days older than the other one!!! The second photo is of their little set up till I move them to my 20 gallon tank- when my button quail hatch!(messy front wall because the kids oogle at them thru out the day!)

Here are the EEs & the 1 JB in the 2nd photo you can see the one @ the waterer has tapped up legs - it broke some toes on the way out of the shell so it needed boots & I always put the medical tape to hold the legs proper just in case while the boots are on. He's doing great so far!

Here is the 1st ever JB to hatch over here & then it's room mates Krip, Wobble, & one of Wobble's hatch mates(was the outcast of it's hatch group so I moved it to their little gang) Krip is doing very well taken on a mother hen type presence with the younger ones & the JB(I fear from how big Krip's comb is that this motherly chicken may be a cockerel....
hmm.png
hope not because I cannot keep a roo inside (tried before, didn't work out) Wobble is able to walk slowly w/ both legs, but when she/he gets excited tends to hobble on the good leg. All in all I am very impressed with the two of them, & their 2 normal buddies who do so great with them!! As you can see Krip on it's Stuffed animal bed, Wobble to the right(notice the turned out leg, that's the 'bad' one) The JB behind Wobble & Wobble's hatch mate to the left. Krip & Wobble have the same booboo leg.

Okay, managed to drip in a wee bit more more water to up the humidity. It's now sitting on 64%. Yaay!!!

Wow - this is some seriously stressful waiting game isn't it?!

It's like watching grass grow....can't help going and checking on my eggs every 30 minutes or so. Still nothing yet, but with the higher humidity now, maybe soon?

Also waiting on a clutch of Lovebird eggs to hatch under the hen (her second clutch in 3 months)....They're meant to have hatched yesterday...nothing happening there either.
