On a happier note, here is Bandit.... who is healthy.

Carcar I can't wait to see your hatch since you too have had quite of time of it this hatching season. Hope all is going well!

What a doll!! Still just the two that were out earlier. Got home tonight and the one who hadn't pipped all the way through the membrane, I made a hole for.

Wrapped that one and the wrong-end pipper #2 in wet paper towels and they seem to be doing swimmingly so far.

And.. I have another new pip!! Smallest I've EVER seen, but a pip nonetheless!!

@carcar I had a wrong end pipped and others who pipped so didn't want to open the bator, so I got skewers and stuck one through each of two little vent holes and chipped the egg with one while holding with other. I waited and I think he couldn't turn so I put skewers on each side and pried the shell open and he was able to do the rest. Freaked me out though I was scared I was gonna skewer the little guy, but it worked. Sorry about the umbilical baby grchick I had one last month I pulled the shell off on accident and it wasn't ready and that poor guy didn't make it either. Christine9 I hope you get some more did you candle again? Everybody else happy hatching. I wish I could show a pic of my babies but I can't get my pics to download for some reason, I have some really neat colors in my ee and a white bcm, I guess is a wheaten.

Shoo! You are BRAVE! Yes I'm making use of my holes, using a bendy straw to wet the paper towels so they don't dry out over the membranes lol.

Just came home from a wine tasting (an excellent way to avoid staring at eggs for hours on end) one out so far and it looks like three pipped but not much progress yet. I hope to wake up to lots more activity... Good luck to the others with chicks hatching tonight!!!

Well I was so busy having a pity party over my shipped eggs, I almost completely forgot about eggs that I'm hatching

for a friend. Put 5 in lock down last night, day 20, late but better than never I guess. I lost track of when they were due, heck I figured they'd die too! At any rate all 5 were alive, 2 were pushing on the internal membrane, I think getting ready to internally pip. Now if I can just resist opening the bator to see if their still alive.

Third time is a charm?!

I eggtopsied the shipped eggs, I can't really explain what happened. They both looked great! In the correct position, feathers present, air cells good, no bad smells, no fuzz (mold/bacteria) growth, all I can think of is that the temp in the hatcher was too low.

Long night here. Long story short, I've got three in the brooder and four assisted in the bator wrapped in wet paper towel. They are doing well though. (Day 23 now)

I put 11 into lockdown out of the original 12... So you are up to 7. That's great. How are the four you assisted looking?
