March hatch along

Joining in on the march hatch. Just set 34 eggs in my brand new Brower. Took FOREVER to set up temps but I think it's all good now. Hopefully it works. This is the biggs clutch of eggs I've ever done so I'll be suuuupper anxious for the next three weeks. These will be rir, rir/barred rock, oliver eggers, blue coppwr marans, and one bcm/light brahma. Really hoping that light brahma egg pulls through. Im excited to see what it'll look like.

But I'm not really holding out much hope for the bcm crosses bc I'm not sure if my roo is doing his job. Only time will tell I guess. Didn't want to waste a single one to crack and check, as I don't have very many due to an egg eater. Oh well 5 to 7 days from now I'll know.

104* temp spike for about 3 hours, maybe a little less? I've got it back down now. Ugh.

Fingers and toes crossed.... 104 is pretty high but if it wasnt there too long maybe it will be ok .

Congrats! A little temp drop like that shouldn't hurt a thing... A broody hen has to get off her eggs to eat and drink so a drop in temp for a little while is quite normal.

Thanks, johnderosa1 - it's a comfort to hear I didn't chill the little buggers too badly.

I finally have the room temp back up. Not sure what's going on - went down to 58* and couldn't get it above 64* in here all weekend even with a space heater going. It's -4* outside now and room temp went up to 75*. Crazy. Really thought my little office was more stable than this temperature-wise. Think I may try an interior closet for our next hatch.

I now have 6 babies and 6 pips! I had a total of 24 go into lockdown, there may be more pips but could be where I can't see them. Here are some pics!

Hi everyone,

Hope it's ok to join I have 13 eggs on lockdown on day 18! Just got rid of 5 that showed either minimal or no development. I'm so excited I hope I get some chickys! Should be due thurs. Never done this before so not sure I'm doing it right but figure there is not much I can do now, I have filled my 2 troughs and taken the incubator off the cradle!
