March hatch along

sometimes you won't hear anything until they hatch, don't give up hope yet. and is tough to see movement at the end also, best to just keep them in lockdown and sit tight. good luck!

Thank you, that makes me feel better.

Quick question, today is day 19 or 20 (I can't remember off the top of my head) Neither chick was moving this morning, is that normal? I haven't heard any peeping at this point either.

Please help!
I hope they haven't died on me.

Hang in there, the waiting is tough, but don't open the bator. In the words of my kids, "step away from the bator".....lol
Keep us posted.

Okay, added water to all the troughs. Some eggs are READY to go! They dipped down almost half an inch from the day before! The small cells stayed small and only grew a little bit. Some eggs were older than others, so I'm sure that affected it.

So, do I put the plug back into the vent now or no?

OKAY. I has questions.

Got a hygrometer yesterday, before I move forward with any more eggs.

When I put it in the bator yesterday with ONE TINY trough filled, it was reading around 50% if I recall correctly. I didn't really trust it so I decided to calibrate it.

It has been in the bag with the wet salt for almost 24* now and is at 67* and holding. Which is fine.. But that means my bator yesterday was eve higher than I was reading!?

Also, if it has taken almost 24* for this thing to read inside that bag, how the heck is a hygrometer accurate for the swings a bator goes through??

well after the salt test is should read 50. If you are reading 67 then you need to subtract 17 from the number it reads in your bator. So if it read 50 in your bator your true humidity is 33.
I need to do the same with mine. I did it a few years ago and haven't done it since.
