March hatch along

Hi everyone,

Hope it's ok to join I have 13 eggs on lockdown on day 18! Just got rid of 5 that showed either minimal or no development. I'm so excited I hope I get some chickys! Should be due thurs. Never done this before so not sure I'm doing it right but figure there is not much I can do now, I have filled my 2 troughs and taken the incubator off the cradle!

Wish me luck,

Ellie x

Sending good hatching vibes!

What kinds of chickens are in the eggs?

Hi, thank you! I have 2 out of 6 pure breed gold partridge Wyandotte bantams..?? (From eBay! No idea!) they are tiny white eggs. And 11 out of 12 Rhode Island reds.

X

Candled after yesterday's temp spike (followed by today's low-end temps, LMBO *sigh*)..

Everything looks fantastic!! Seventeen is my final, road-to-lockdown count. Lockdown set for a week from tomorrow.

I'm almost glad I got used to hatching ducks first.. Makes chickens seem lightning fast! :)

I have a question. When I candled my Ameraucana eggs, one of them had the air cell in the wrong end. Has anyone else had this happen? If so, did the chick survive? We go into lockdown in just two days and I'm worried. My A. eggs belong to my son since he wanted to hatch some out while I put some BCmarans eggs in the incubator. The chick is developing but how will the hatch turn out?
