March hatch along

Well...I did something stupid yesterday. I turned my heater off because my house was hot,and forgot to turn it back on before I went to sleep! The house was absolutely frigid when I woke up. I don't know my temperature in the incubator, since I have a blanket over top of it, I won't remove it to check for the temperature. I just going to go about as if it's a regular hatch.

Poop. Just...poop.

Subhanalah, I know the "just poop" feeling after discovering my incubator bulb burned out sometime this past Sunday... poop!!! The temp was in the 60s in the incubator, and eggs were cool to the touch

Mine will be 14 days tomorrow. I am hoping for a hatch... but not holding my breath. *sigh*
Don't worry too much, read this article
http://www.brinsea.com/customerservice/poweroff.html It made me feel so much better about my eggs being "too cold" on arrival.

I don't remember who posted it originally but THANK YOU!

Well I candle again. This is the 13/14 day. Same exact progress. 18 eggs progressing nicely and four that are iffy. Except now there is a small crack in one of the eggs that is progressing on the smaller end. Should I seal it with wax or leave it alone? I suspect its from my incubators turning just in this last week because when I candled 7 days ago there was no crack. Also one of the eggs that is progressing has its air cell on the side of the egg closer to the smaller end. Come lockdown should put it in an egg carton, small end up? Its doing so well, I would hate to see it not make it bc of that stupid air cell.

Update/final, copied from my "home" thread for you guys.. Oh and yes, the Brahma that originally hatched yesterday, passed. :(

Well, my doomed hatch took its final swift circle 'round the crapper this afternoon.

But long story short, I ended up with one sweet, SASSY little baby. :love

^^this little one was born by emergency "E-Section".. Hehe. Did very well and is vocal and active, although still dragging that she'll around for now. :lau

:idunno mmm, it's okay. Wasn't meant to be right now I guess. It was a beautiful baby though, feathery legs & all.

But this one has fuzzy extremities too. ;)

Poor hubby, when I got in from work he said, I think something's wrong in the bator.

Walked in to find baby Brahma face planted and panting on the screen floor. Uhh, ya think!?

I'm trying not to think I could've done more if I'd known sooner. Hubby had just noticed it not long before. :(

Well this one is so cute, and just think, if you wouldn't have hung in there you would have missed it. I give you a lot of credit, I don't know if I would have been as patient or persistent. Enjoy the little fuzzy butt!
