March hatch along

I broke theyolk while trying to maneuver the chick and get a picture. It dried out because the shell was cracked by a falling thermometer shortly after I set them. Good to know everything looked good, its a positive sign for the other 11 in there.

I have 12 eggs on lockdown, should hatch fri or sat. my first time, started with 14, 2 were clear so they were discarded. hope to report chicks this weekend!

I got 11/14 out now for my Rhodebars with the rest pipped. Didn't get much sleep last night.

Last night I had four pips, this morning I have 3 hatched out and 4 pipped out of 14 eggs!

HAPPY OFFICIAL FIRST DAY OF SPRING GUYS (err depending on where you are on the globe!)

All 6 of my babies are hatched now, all happy and healthy and running around in the brooder frog leaping each other...
Last one hatched yesterday late afternoon.
I had pancakes for breakfast this morning in the sunshine and took this picture about an hour ago.

@christine9 the weird air cell they call saddle shaped has something to do with shipping and they can hatch fine most of the time, try and put larger airsac side up for better shot at lockdown to improve chances. Otherwise I am going crazy waiting for my own to hatch, especially listening to you guys. I still have like 8-9 days and I'm already super anxious.

Yay! Good news. The anxiety is high here too. Can't wait

What breed of chicken is that in your avatar?

They are Salmon Faverolles. Unfortunately I lost the hen in the picture this past winter. The eggs I am hatching now are all Faverolles so I'm hoping to get some pullets to replace her with.

Hopefully... lol... the last batch of Faverolles eggs I hatched out, I got 1 pullet out of 7.
