Not due until Saturday and I have to be out most of that day looking at wedding cakes with my daughter! Since she's not a chicken keeper, I can say it here....you all know where I'd rather be.

I candled mine. 16 out of 17 look good! Not due till the 18th. Gives me time to move the last batch to a different pen so there's room in the brooder.

19 chicks hatched 2 weeks ago. Two hens still laying, third one started a few days ago, Soon I'll have more than I can handle. Should I stop? I dont think I can. I may need to seek professional help. Nah, I dont have a problem.

Hi all,

Well the Silkie hatch was not very good.

out of 12 eggs 7 we're clear
2 hatched and 3 quit. The two that hatched are amazing active. They are in with the Cochin chicks (5 day old) and climb all over them. Here the pictures of the newest babies.

He fits under the Cochin baby.

I'll be sticking with this thread as I just bought another dozen eggs from chicken stalker! I'm really excited.

I candled all 70 eggs this morning. Two had definate blood rings so I pulled them. One was a lavender Ameraucana and the other an EE.
Then there were 6 that are questionable, 2 silkies, 2 from my mom, 1 EE and 1 BCM it was hard to see in those, but one just didn't look the same as the others. So it looks like I am going to have alot of babies.

I will candle again next weekend and see if any of the questionable ones should be pulled.

I'm hoping I didn't lose my eggs. I've had so much trouble getting everything back to where it needs to be since lockdown at 7:30 last night.

I had 24 eggs make it to lockdown. 17 hatched so far, pretty sure the others are not going to.
