My 4 year old production blue has been listing to one side and now can only get around by scooting. She will eat but is increasingly less mobile. Her leg looks fine but something is clearly wrong. Because she id a hybrid, she is elderly at this age. Is she too old for Marek’s disease?

Chickens can get symptoms of Mareks at any time after exposure to a carrier. Wild birds or someone’s contaminated shoes can also bring it in. Hopefully, it is not Mareks, but some other issue. Do you have a rooster who might have hurt her while mating? Nerve damage from an injury, stuck egg, infection, or tumor could cause paralysis or lameness. Does she lay eggs? I would separate her so that the others do not harm her. A wire dog crate with food and water inside the coop can be good for that. What does she eat? Try getting her to eat some moistened chicken feed and egg. Poultry vitamins with riboflavin or B complex vitamins might be helpful in case of a deficiency. If you should lose her one day, your state vet could do a necropsy to give you a diagnosis. If that is not possible, a home necropsy where you open the abdomen, and examine the organs for anything unusual would be good to do. Take pictures of organs if you do one, and post here.

When was her last egg?
Any bloat or feeling of fluid below the vent between her legs?

She has not laid eggs since November. Her comb is red, but I think she is done with that part of her life. No roosters. I have only three girls left from my original flock of 8. None of them are laying, but the other two are doing fine. The one with troubles was fine the day prior to exhibiting these symptoms, so I'm leaning toward some sort of injury...it's just not apparent. She has been my most skittish, not letting me handle her or even pet her, but now I can touch her because she can't really move away.
