That's good! I thought it odd your state was involved too...but yes they can be very helpful. In 2006 our flock became infected with ILT. We had a necropsy done and and yeah they quarantined us. But the State vets were so friendly and helpful back then and lots of free advice from the vets. And no we didnt cull our surviving birds and start over.

Actually in that case..we were advised to vaccinate all our birds..even the sick ones..with iLT vaccine, which we did. We did not vaccinate newly arriving members to the flock in later years th hough... neither were we told we had to. If I were you I'd inquire with your State vets about the vaccines.. since you should still have that resource available
