Mareks? Help? *Video added*

You would need to contact your local government extension office and find out where to have one done. They would be able to help you. A mile is a long way...is it downwind?

Ok thank you
We are down wind of it but it is a bit less than a mile, 3/4 mile maybe,
Thanks

Ok, I have some picture of her, She tends to shuffle to prop herself against the log. I don't know if it's good for her but it's where she's happy,

Poor girl, she doesn't look happy at all. I would bring her inside where she can feel safe. The others may take notice of her being different and try and peck her to death...I found this out the hard way!

That look and stance really looks like a Marek's bird to me...but, the rest doesn't quite fit. The dropping wings, curled feet...all fit Marek's.

Marek's can travel on the wind...I really would try and find out why all the others birds were gotten rid of.

I really would try and have that necropsy done. I just don't like the looks of it :(

hmm she still Cherps a lot and I thought she was happy but I don't know,
she is throughout the day when I'm at school she is in a large cage so she isn't alone without the others but she is out of their way so they don't eat her food.
I can't believe it's mareks! everything fits:( I just hope she will make a miracle recovery, but I don't suppose that will happen. she does try stand up, the first time she has tried to stand up since she got it was yesterday. she has been like this over 2 weeks. I don't suppose she has long left?:(
thank you for your help! Daisy x

Ok, since you want to do your best for her..here's what I would recommend. She is an older hen and maybe this will boost her enough to fight off whatever it is...

.5mls poly vi sol, without iron, daily
400 ius vitamin E twice daily.

Up her protein with scrambled egg, mealworms, chicken livers..whatever is handy with lots of protein.

Keep her cool and comfortable. I make a mash with flock raiser, yogurt, applesauce (or some kind of veggie/fruit baby food), and vitamins...they love it and it provides them with a good nutrient rich food.

I am hoping and praying that it isn't Marek's. The age alone and the fact that no other birds have come into your flock makes it almost impossible to be Marek's...unless the farm down the street was closed due to Marek's..and the wind was blowing just right.

Keep us posted...I want to hear how she does.

She is quite thin but she hasn't ever been fat. She still eats and she isn't losing weight. She has stopped laying. She stopped about 3 to 4 weeks ago.
I took some pictures of her in her cage. She has food and water infront of her and she is sat in a box which is normally used in there hut. She also has blue sheeting above her as an umbrella as it is raining today.
I will upload them later

I'm trying to narrow down the cause of this. She has stopped laying...that is another indicator of Marek's...it can also be an indicator of age, internal laying or EYP. Would you mind PMing speckledhen and asking her opinion. She has a lot of experience with reproductive problems in chickens and would be a great help in trying to narrow down the cause of your hen's problems.
