Ill try to make this brief. have 4 leghorns and 3 buff orps all bought together, not vaccinated as day olds. They around 6 weeks of age. In the same area (different cage) have 3 other chicks (3 weeks old). Today when I went out to feed them one of the buffs was standing still with its neck drooping forward almost like a hunch back. Lethargic, having difficulty moving its neck/head around however carried on its normal routine at a slower pace.
I understand that there are some mimics of mareks, Iam just unaware of what they are even with some research.

So i isolated the chick, gave it some sugar water, electrolytes, and mash for food. Its woobly on its legs however like I mentioned tries to carry on. Im ready for the worse and will not hesitate to cull the whole flock if symptoms begin showing up. Im going to wait it out and see how this buff does, however what else could it be?

you might consider trying vitamin e to see if it helps at all- I am sorry I don't know what is wrong.

I have seen that with a neck injury also, and it resolved within 24-48 hours on its own.

here's another one

I hope your little one gets better. Check for moldy feed or coop! Check to make sure your chick starter isn't too old/damp.

looks like it wry neck. Have the vit e, selenium, and polyvisol ill start in the AM. Ill post progress if any.

it is. seems to have resolved a bit prior to giving her anything. She is still getting the vitamins for now, and although she seems a bit weak, has been getting better.
