Marek's vs. perosis - please help

When they have perosis it starts with them limping, then the hock swells and the leg starts to rotates. I have seen some where the leg rotates almost 180 degrees.

Anyways......I am thinking it could be as simple as the wrong nutrients provided......Chicks at 3 weeks should be fed a Chick starter till 8 weeks old....Granite grit in a separate bowl and very few treats.......

I always look for simple fixes and not Doom and Gloom....Chickens are tough and usually very healthy.....

Cheers!

It sure could be a nutrional problem, but I am almost 100% sure it's not perosis.

I have also see my fair share of Marek's, and this does sound more like Marek's, especially if the bird was not vaccinated.

Yeah, something is very wrong by the looks of its curled feet and dropped wings.....Possible Mereks? I hate to say it as your entire flock will either die or be carriers.....Get the body tested once the Bird has died.....

Best of luck.....I feel for you.....

If Marek's, it's highly unlikely that the entire flock will die. Maybe we can get @Nambroth to comment on Marek's.

I did not imply that will happen....I said Some could die and others be carriers....Also some will show effects but yet live.....

Anyways I hope it all works out and it is just something isolated to the one Bird......I hope it is not a bad strain If it is Mereks?

It depends....? Without testing its a wild guess as to what is really going on?

Cheers!
