MarineCorpFarmr Egg BOMB, A new Beginning! Follow along in his journey to a new flock!

Your package is all ready for pickup tomorrow! Some of the eggs are a little dirty, it's been very muddy here lately. I washed mine last time with antibacterial soap. Not sure if you want to try that or not. I have never shipped eggs before I hope they make the trip good. You are my test! Hahahaha.

@MarineCorpFarmr It was my first test ship also! Not quite sure what I was doing. Jayson, did any of the AZ eggs break? I think I should have used a larger box...but didn't have any larger bubble wrap to fill it b/c it got thrown out with the Christmas trash.

BTW, I never write fragile on my boxes...I assume that if there are not-nice people working for the USPS they will be rougher on those boxes. I may be assuming wrong, but dh works for the airlines and he has witnessed many MANY times that the baggage handlers are extra rough on things marked fragile.

Yeah I heard the same thing but since it's wrote on there and it's not taken care of then the insurance will cover it. Also if it gets X-rayed the eggs won't be worth anything. I debated to write or not to write. I know the people here take care of them. My DH worked for USPS as a carrier.

I didn't even think about the Xrays. It amazes me that shipped eggs can even hatch!

USPS does not routinely xray and if they did it will not effect eggs that much.

I have done numerous studies (more than 500 eggs) on eggs that traveled the TSA xray machines and conveyor belts at LAX with only a 10% reduction in viability - probably due to more rough handling than anything

Studies also show that rays on a woman who is less than 14 days pregnant do not have any increase in birth defects or miscarriages

MCF (would address you by your real name, but don't know if you want it "out there"), you should be getting mine today. Like some of those above said, I've never sent eggs before, so I hope they get to you safely. I did not write anything on the box stating the contents, but I did cover it with "FRAGILE" "DO NOT DROP" and "THIS END UP". Hopefully there won't be any "donkey"hole postal employees who see that as a free ticket to play dodgeball.
