MarineCorpFarmr Egg BOMB, A new Beginning! Follow along in his journey to a new flock!

We got tired of messing with all of the separate (outrageous)bills, so after much comp. shopping ended up with Armstrong(not sure if it's local only). Cable/home phone/internet $130.00 a month. LOl! Bad part is if I don't pay the bill....everything gets shut off! It has happened

After several different approaches we get just Internet from AT&T. Use Google phone at Gmail to call people on. Watch all our television programs on the net (Free TV Project). So for just the cost of the Internet we stay connected. For a bit better convenience on incoming calls we are going to get Magic Jack again soon. That only runs $30 per year.

We just moved and got Magic Jack and I'm not sure if I like it. We only need a phone for the next 4-5 years until our younger dd moves out...and we got it to have a line if her cell is dead and for emergencies...but I just read that you can't use it to call 911.

So I am not sure if I should take it back and just suck it up and pay the $$$ to start up a 'real' landline. I also read a bunch of reviews on it and people seem to either love it or hate it.

I do like that we can take it with us out of the country!

Roostereggs - If you get an old cell phone that still works, keep it charged, and make sure you have coverage of some type, it will call 911 without any carrier service. If that is what you are worried about, PROBLEM SOLVED!!

I do this even with having a cell that I pay for. We have several of the $15 cheapies from Wal-Mart laying around for emergencies. They will still call 911 as long as they are charged & can pick up a signal.

yall are lucky. Our choices are pay out the *** for sat net or crap dsl 3mbps. Our bloody phones are faster :(

lol woman. I went through 10gigs this month :p

LOL we went through our 10 G in two weeks. That's our limit for the month (Dish). Then our internet drops to "throttled" which is basically dial-up speed. That tells you why I wasn't on the internet to stop in here and say hello...takes a year to load the page

Unfortunately we have no other option, unless we go with a hotspot from verizon or some other cellular company...but don't know how much better it will be, because we are right on the line for verizon signal...I have to stand in certain parts of my house and stay still in order to use my cellphone. One big adjustment for me, coming from the city where I had unlimited internet and phone (verizon fios and comcast), but if that's the price I have to pay to live out here in the country and raise my chickens, so be it!
Egg pics and updates in the am when I get back from firmly planting my boot in someone's rear at the post office.... takes a mighty big shoehorn to remove a size 12...
Oh boy, you have big feet. You know what they say about big feet...

I decided not to ship mine out today...don't want them sitting in a post office on Sunday, so I'm shipping Monday. Weather's gonna be perfect...no freezing temps, so I'm waiting till then. Didn't even think about the fact that they'd sit still for a day...I have my hubby to thank for that...he's the one who said "Will the eggs be ok sitting in the post office on Sunday?". Glad he thinks of these things...I wouldn't have.
He has big feet, too
