Really? We can be in a blizzard warning and the schools still won't close.

So far this year the school closed once and that was when the governor mandated it because of the extreme cold across the state.
We live in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Lots of hills, curves, and one lane roads. School bus cannot travel on them with the least bit of snow. I remember when we got 14" of snow back in 93 or 94 and their was no school for 3 weeks. The electric was off for 2 weeks.

Mine ended up not going today. They were on 2 hr delay. Sent them out 20 minutes before the bus was due. They got 2/3 of the way down the drive & the bus pulled up 20 minutes early & left them. We are 1/4 mile back the driveway, no 4wd & no gas. I called the school, told them what happened & they said it would be counted as an excused absence since it was the driver's fault he was off schedule. There was no reason why he couldn't have waited 2 minutes on them.

I used to love snow days in Colorado as a kid
