MarineCorpFarmr Egg BOMB, A new Beginning! Follow along in his journey to a new flock!

When it gets that "cold" here we are running around in bathing suits headed to the pool. My bedroom is usually around 58°F. The rest of the house is around 64°F.

its amusing seeing my wife on skype with a pashmina shawl wrapped around her at 68. office workers in Manila have boots and coats

I run outside to grab things from the car or shed in shorts, tanktop & bare feet with 6 inches of snow on the ground & temps at -7°F.

Ok so im about half way locked down as of now... sorta kinda ran out of plastic boxes to seperate eggs in... really really need to build a bloody hatcher and soon. The 5 little ones from the first hatch are doing well tho despite the frigid temps... thanks to lots of propane.
is it STILL cold there? that means it will still be cold here! arggggg

You sound like my family out of state!

OK, OK...I totally get this as I grew up in Colorado and lived there for 20 years. But in our defense there is this thing called acclimatization...just as some of you can run outside in -7* in shorts to get the mail or newspaper (just as I did when I was a kid)...we have this strange thing where we get so used to the heat that we freeze at higher temps.

I know it sounds crazy, but when we get out of the hot tub here in the summer at night and it is under 85* we start shivering (95* for me b/c I'm so sensitive to the cold)! In fact, I never used our swimming pools much because it felt too cold, even with the water temp in the 80s.

Oh, and our dew point is high...so we can see our breath when the temp is in the 40's sometimes...once saw my breath at 52* here. Going to work in the winter in the 40s feels miserable and makes me depressed.

I totally get the pashmina, Oz...in the summers I carry one around in my handbag because the AC in buildings can feel TOO cold after being out in 100* + temps.

So...yes we get freaky cold also...but I will

3 days, that's it??? Since Friday, January 17th, my boys have gone to school TWO days!! Two days in one day shy of two weeks! They are driving me NUTS!!!!

Never short sleeves for me, or bare feet in the cold...but the slippers? ALWAYS. Slippers and me go together like syrup and pancakes...I even wear them to the store! I LOVE slippers! :)

Woo-hoo! Temperatures will reach 20 degrees today!

Roostereggs, you're right about acclimatization. The 15 degrees weather last night was beautiful. I didn't even wear a jacket to give my ducks and geese more water. However, if the weather were too drop down to 15 degree in the middle of summer, I'd be freezing.
