It happened!!! After months of feeding and watering and pampering and coaxing........they layed me 2 eggs. I was so excited that I jumped and yelled "EGGS EGGS I HAVE TWO EGGS" the whole neighborhood now knows my chickens layed me 2 eggs. One we ate (it was a double yoker and we all had a taste) the other one I am blowing out and keeping so I can show everyone who ever comes to my house ever again my first egg.

Hooray! Seems like it takes forever but, boy are they worth the wait. I hope it never gets old for you to discover warm eggs in the nest box. Great pics, the double yolker looks huge - ouch!

My 2 yr old hen has been laying daily for a month now. I got a big surprise from my pullet (8months old) She laid 2 TWO eggs today. I was shocked as her baby is 6 weeks old and i thought it would be 4 to 5 months before they lay after hatchng chicks.


Can anyone elaborate on that statement for me?
