Marking Eggs

We often have a number of eggs in the incubator that are set at different dates. We move them to a hatcher i build on lockdown day. I use pencil to mark the eggs but would like to use a Sharpie. Will a Sharpie hurt the eggs/chicks?

I use pencil on my incubator eggs but under a broodie I use Sharpie just to make it easier to see quickly when I collect eggs. No harmful effects yet!

Sharpie is a very popular choice for egg marking, and I have not had nor known anyone who has had any negative effects using it

I use sharpie all the time on incubated eggs. No worries It's perfectly safe.
