i have 9 eggs due to hatch on the 9th, and I was wondering how to mark them. They will be too little for leg bands, so I was thinking putting a small dot of color on the back of each ones head, a different color for each. if it's on the back of the head, they cant peck at it.

What do you suggest?

what should I mark them with?
paint, marker, pen?

if paint--watercolor, acrylic, oil.....NAILPOLISH!!?? HMMMMMMM???

Im confused...
and that is my specialty

Well, I haven't asked Ideal, but since the marks stayed for a couple of weeks or so, I assumed it was felt tip markers. That's what it looked like.

We band ours as soon as they come out of the bator they make very small bands just for the new fluff

I'm trying to understand why you want to mark them, but anyway, the way to do it is with a toe-punch.
