Martha identified the silkie as "A Japanese Silkie." They originated in China, not Japan. I did enjoy the show but could have done without the craft and food segments.

I actually sold a few EE chicks yesterday as a result of people seeing her show. They already owned chickens but did not have any that lay tinted eggs and wanted to add some of those to their flock. Awareness helps us all. Martha may help make chickens the in thing for some of her loyal followers.

All in all though I watched the show with a huge doofy grin especially when they showed my favorite breeds - despite misinformation and the fact I'm VERY certain now that she did not pronounce D'uccle correctly. Even though the pronunciation there is questionable.
