Martinsburg WV Chickenstock Sept 24th 2011 8am- noon

Most anything can dig to get in and a lot of predators will take multiple birds in one day but.. no feathers? that is a tough one. I have a bunch of different sized live traps if you'd like to borrow them.. not sure what good it will do now

If you can get a hold of a wildlife camera, that may tell a lot. so sorry

That's horrible UrbanBlue I lost about 20 birds all in the span of a week back a few months ago :'( Only advice I can offer is to get some metal fencing dogs will tear right thru that plastic stuff in a heart beat. I find that plastic netting is better for keeping chickens restricted from areas but it won't keep predators out. Set traps I caught a weasel in my livetrap with sardines, I also caught countless numbers of cats. I've also heard anchovies work good as a bait. It's such a downer when you lose birds. Most predators will keep coming back tho once they got that first taste. Double secure your girls and hope for the best. So sorry for your loss.

On another note... I'm a quail daddy x2. My first setting of 4 coturnix eggs blessed me with 2 lil chicks 1 egg infertile and the other died out about a week early. I've got plenty more eggs bating now so hopefully I'll have a few for the swap. If nothing else I'll definitely have some eggs if anyone is interested. The girls give me an egg a day each like clock work. I should also have several buttons to bring, Thanks Tonya, these things multiply like rabbits :p

We lost two of our turkeys at 10am in the morning too. Gone for less than a hour. Had to be a human predator. Dogs found nothing except that a car had been in the drive. Had a guinea hen and 31+ eggs disappear too. Like someone picked all those eggs up and put them in a basket. Not one shell did we find. Hope you find some of yours. If you need a BCM roo, you can have one of ours. Nice Davis/Presley lines with feathered legs. He is about a year old and a great roo. Just downsizing to only Wheatens. I have a few other breeding stock and of course chicks. If I can be of any help, just let me know.

BTW we have great luck with catfood as trap bait. The tuna flavor seems to work great. Good luck and so sorry.

I plan on attending and will definitely be bringing a Lavender Orpington roo 1 yr old. There are a few other birds I'm considering bringing but won't know until closer to the swap.
