MARYLAND THREAD!

DO ANY MARYLANDERS HAVE A PULLET FOR SALE? I have one unhappy chicken who needs a friend. I am in Montgomery County Maryland. I love roosters but my neighbors HATE them so I must buy a pullet. Thanks for any help you can give.

Clarksburg (not Clarksville) We've got a couple acres in the AgReserve

Added a few chickens and lost several before we could get the electric fence up.

Looking to add a few hens Would anyone nearby be willing to sell us a few laying or ready to lay? Our ground is wet from spring heads so trying to stay away from silkies or others with feathers on legs. Prefer brown and blue/green layers. They will pasture on .75 acres with pellets as needed.

Thanks

Hi Barry I am the lady looking for a hen for my lonely single chicken who posted several days ago,. I also live in Clarksburg. I have a few suggestions for you. You might try the Montgomery County Humane Society. They have at least one hen, a barred rock, available. I am not going to inquire about her because I am not really supposed to keep chickens(I live in the new subdivisions) so I am under the radar. I am ordering 3 baby chicks from mypetchicken.com for February delivery. You can order as few as 3 chicks at a time and you can buy all females. I know in years past you could get baby chicks from Southern States in Frederick later in Spring. Good luck with your search.

Hi Nancy

We are waiting on MoCo Humane Society to approve us.
My wife called from there today after seeing them.
They have another hen that was recently brought in too.

Not sure about the roo's. Will go again to see what type of personality they have. We are thinking of raising a batch from eggs ourselves. More fun if from our own family of misfits.

Have you decided on what type of hens you want? And reason?

Do u know about Feb 4 Westminister event?

You're welcome to drop by

Hi there,
I'm also lobbying to change the Cecil County laws. See www.freesnowbird.com
I'll circulate your cause as well.

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to send a quick note to let everyone know that we have started an online petition to get the Baltimore County legislation changed to allow backyard chickens. Please send this to anyone you know in Baltimore County that supports backyard chickens. We need all the help we can get right now.

http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/baltcochickens/

Also, our regular blog is at http://charmcitychickens.blogspot.com. You can also sign up to be on our email list as well. I try to send out at least one update a month, sometimes more if there is something to report.

Thanks!
Jay
