Yes. Excess humidity increases ammonia release from the manure, which increases respiratory damage and can predispose to disease.

I have a beautiful black Ameraucana rooster who was hatched at Whitmore farm - so a true Ameraucana. I need to rehome him because he needs to free roam and I can't give him that opportunity due to the multitude of large predators we have here against whom he would not have a chance. Subsequently he's bored and giving my hens a rough time. He's 9 months old and healthy. I have never had any health problems with my birds since I started 2 years ago. He is not aggressive towards humans, he stays at least 4 ft away from me if he can help it.

I am in Frederick, I'm willing to drive within a radius of 50 miles to deliver if someone would have space for him,

Here's the listing in the buy/sell forum.

I really do not want to have to kill this bird. Any takers?

Try craigslist also I used that to find homes for roosters in harford co.

Yea, I posted him on CL, but no takers yet, unfortunately. We'll have to kill him Saturday if no one comes forward. Oh well at least we tried.

Have you tried "the Chicken chick's" Facebook page for rehoming your Ameraucana rooster and also The Maryland Poultry Swap's Facebook page? People frequently rehome roosters on both sites. It seems such a shame when he is a such a beautiful purebred Ameraucana.
