Mask to quick birds for DNA?

Wow. Never heard of DNA testing for gender with chicks. How expensive is it?

I could give cockerel chicks back to the seller (4) and could re-home cockerels chicks from my broodies (8) without any problem.

You can also send in feathers for DNA tests, though I don't know if chick down has enough root material to use. But last time I had a bird DNA sexed we plucked about 5 feathers from her chest and sent that in.
I was worried about not getting thecrig

Average is $13 per test.

I think I paid $20 for 1 bird last time, don't recall which lab I used.

I totally get testing silkied cause they take forever, but most other birds I don't see the point

Well... some people (*ahem*myhusband) get very nervous about being attached to a bird only to find out later it's a male and they can't keep it. So after one of our first chicks turned out to be male, he bugged me to test the others. I tested one of them, haven't done it since.
