Yes. The test requires 2-4 drops of blood per chick.I think they mean cutting lightly into that nerve of blood that is usually in the nail to get a few drops of blood

Wow. Never heard of DNA testing for gender with chicks. How expensive is it?
I could give cockerel chicks back to the seller (4) and could re-home cockerels chicks from my broodies (8) without any problem.
I was worried about not getting thecrigYou can also send in feathers for DNA tests, though I don't know if chick down has enough root material to use. But last time I had a bird DNA sexed we plucked about 5 feathers from her chest and sent that in.

I totally get testing silkied cause they take forever, but most other birds I don't see the point
