mass death

Good news!! The owner of our hatchery is replacing ALL the chicks we lost +4! He had no obligation to do this. He is just GOOD PEOPLE! If you are looking for a wonderful hatchery who considers his customers to be "Friends FIRST" contact them! I can't say enough about how helpful they have been to us newbies! www.countryhatchery.net

not sure of the law in USA but in UK if you buy pets [livestock] and they die within 7 days the store must replace them regardless

only silly thing is though that the dead animal must be taken back [almost like an exchange]

I always think of over heating. Do they have somewhere in the brooder to get down to under 75 degrees? Meaties at two weeks don't need much heat, I think they overheat and die more often than folks realize. I don't know what your weather's been like lately but if you had a heat spike like we did here (Oregon) that could have been the problem.

I'm glad you have a good customer service oriented hatchery!

Could it be a coccidia outbreak? Were they hunched over with feathers fluffed and acting listless and un-enthusiastic?? On non-medicated feed?
