Massachusetts Dog officer holding my Birds hostage !!

Hi. As much I wanted to I couldn't read all the posts because I have to get to work.....so I hope this is not duplicative .......I would make it very clear that if any harm come to your birds (illness or otherwise) as a result of this, there will be legal repercussions and I would also be inclined to outline exactly what conditions you expect the birds to be kept in during this period of incarceration and excatly what they must be fed etc. Make the conditions ones of extreme good care, crucial actually because your birds are being subject to stress. I would also see if you (or someone wlse they know) can be with them until they are released. In other words, make it so onerous for this game to continue to be played, and all legitimately in the name of the kind of care and comofrting you believe the birds need to maintain their health.

And have witnesses with you for any encounters with officials. And document everything, as I imagine you are.

Well finally an ending to the story. Finally got the peas back last nite..wasnt easy though. They were suppose to be coming back on the weekend, but that dog officer had pulled more crap & told her boss..the chief of police more lies. she said that the npip tester called her and said HE wanted all my birds tested & the peas tested before he would consider getting them back to me & that i would need to apply for permits becuase they are exotics..lol..she is such a liar. Well I called that chief of police yesterday & told him if hes going to hire a dog officer, he needs to hire one who knows what shes talking about & doesnt hold peoples animals hostage. And that she is problematic & is a liar.
From the get go, I had initially called her, left a messgae on her machine saying Hi, I lost 3 peas, my 1st name & my number..thats all..well the next day she showed up at my property when no-one was home..left a nasty note & took the plate # off my moms car & ran it. So when i called her a few days later she said to me.."and whi is"such and such (my moms name)..now isnt that odd, what right does she have to ask who my mom is??..what right did she have to run my moms plate??..there was nothing criminal going on..she was out of her jurisdiction..this isnt animal cops lol.. she is a wacko to say the least.

So the peas ended up right down the road from my property at some guys house,he said she brought them there 1 at a time..odd & that she brings him birds all the time..odd..she is a dog officer..in a city..not the county. So now im wondering..i have been missing birds a few times recently, in large groups including babies with mommas & there was no trace of predators, no feathers or blood..just vanished like the peas did. Until recently whenever theres a killing, theres always a trace.

Now I have to wonder what has happened to my other birds..all tame..sickening

I would check into initiating a civil rights violation complaint with either state or federal authorities. It might not go anywhere, but it would be worth a try. Plus, things like that go on people's records, it might help the next person down the road when this animal control officer turns on them.

My wife used to work for a small town Gov. You would be surprised ..... (well YOU probly wouldn't be) at what people will believe! Just a little education of local laws is a very powerful thing! Always question eveything! Always go directly to the top! Most people who don't know any better and just give in to what ever junk they are told. They believe the (Official) employee! Unfortuantely there are alot of good, honest prople who never get credit for doing their jobs but the 1 bad egg (cough, cough) Gets so much attention! I am so sorry for your experience!!! I would deffinately get a camera system! If she has birds and now has a reason, she will be back!

Good Luck!

God BLess!

Ps. Given her past actions I would deffinately file a restraining order!

She has NO right takeing plate # down and running them. Wow she is so abuseing her athority. You should get in contact of where teh platse where run at they will be on file, and get her in trouble for doing it!! oh man i would have my fun with this if it was me! She would loose her job,

Sadly, this is not the first nor the last story of illegal activity by an A/C officer I've heard. If they get on a person's property they will search high and low for some excuse to confiscate every creature on the place. The animals are then sold ("adopted") at a tidy profit.

I have one more question. How do you really know your birds "flew" into another county?

Another thing! Here animal control officers are NOT law officers! They are ordinance officers! They can not and do not carry guns or hand cuffs! If they have a problem with a person they must call for a actual officer! They can write tickets but can not arrest you! Yes they are under the police chief but they are NOT police! They are not Game wardens or police/sherrif! They are employees of the city like any secratery! Also the small city I live in the Meter maids are not officers! They are just ordinance officers (tickets only!) and must call for a real officer to do any real arrest! I deffinately would seek legal protection from this person and their ability to cause you issues in the future! Small people with big heads are always extremely vengeful when someone shows them up! and proves how small they really are!

Good Luck and God Bless!

My thinking is if she is bringing them to him one at a time, she can claim she FOUnd them one at a time, if she were to bring them all at once, she could be charged with theft, correct? I mean, how could you find two or more peacocks at one time that belong to the same person in the same place??? That would be odd...............

I think she's a control freak
