Massive incoming grain and food shortages

Pics
Fact or fiction ? Went to TSC on Friday. Shelves were 50% short of dog food. Asked at checkout and they said that dog food companies, especially Purina, were having problems getting needed ingredients. :idunno
 but I get my layer feed from a local mill.
Couple weeks ago they had none. Said they hadn't got their shipment of soy meal.
Friday they had one bag. Said they hadn't got their shipment of calcium.

Speaking of dog food... I assume all this is the reason nearly every brand recently switched to peas and pea proteins. I refuse to buy it after reading this: https://www.akc.org/expert-advice/news/peas-linked-dcm-canine-heart-disease/

My dog is not their test subject and their cost reduction recipe changes can go to hell. Switched back to some dry food that doesn't have it, but includes sweet potatoes which I'm really unsure about either... like when did dogs start needing all these fruits and vegetables???

Dogs naturally produce high level of antioxidants?. I think all these recipes are cost cutting tactics and a load of BS.

*Correction, I may have gotten antioxidants confused with antibodies... still I see a brand on the shelf showing tomatoes on the bag and then you go to the vet and tomatoes are on the do not give your dog list...

It sounds to me like a response to all the whack-o's wanting a cheap, but grain free, dog food. They should let their dog go out back to kill and eat a chicken if they're so concerned.
My dog does get real boiled chicken daily regardless of what I buy. But not sure about giving him only that. I would like to try my hat at making my own recipe, but not sure how cost effective that is with the current state of affairs without purchasing a cow. Guess I should look into it.

Oh no I was referring to the solider fly suggestion. I'm over flies in general and seeing that monster was enough to push me over the edge with flies.
Soldier flies aren’t like actual flies or horseflies. They don’t bite sting or swarm you lol. I breed them, and almost never actually see an adult unless it’s laying eggs in my breeding box.

That's the thing. I'm sure the flies that are already here would find out.
You need a fancy entrance that the house flies can't navigate.

I'm interested in blow fly maggot farming. People used to hang a horse head over their pond. The maggots would fall out to attract and feed the bass and bream in the pond.

I would catch hell for the stinch. But, I'm wondering about putting chicken processing waste in a wire basket and hoisting it thirty feet up in a tree. The breeze should carry away the stinch and the maggots might drop to the ground for the chickens. What do you think?
