Mastiff vs. chickens in town. Hmmm....

LOL

It's not always the size of the animal. I'd say my single 100 gram cockatiel in an apartment is way more work and much more demanding than when I was running a brooder, a grow out pen, and the layer coop with 20 hens at home.

She is BEA-U-TI-FUL!!! She looks just like our Princess! I really miss her, and we are looking for another; but having just started on this chicken journey, we may have to wait a little while.

As I said earlier, they are all individuals. :) ...And so are the owners. To each his own, thankfully!

LOL! No she's pure English Mastiff. I'll try to dig up a picture. Yes, hyper mastiffs are out there, at the Vet. clinic I work at you'll find them and I always ask the owners about their energy level (cause I thought they were suppose to be couch potato dogs?) and a lot of people say energetic. It's probably the breeding lines. The second picture shows her doing her favorite thing, digging at the rapids in a little brook. She would do it for hours if I stood there with her.

She's a beauty! Here's our latest adoptee, Max. He's down to a svelte 180 lbs (his previous owner had him up to 223 lbs at one point). He's 7, has ec and entropian (not severe enough to have surgically corrected); luxating patella and some neurological issues that we've been dealing with but he is one big, drooly teddy bear of a dog (not a mean bone in his body). We're also fostering a mastiff girl who is currently recuperating from a recent ACL repair surgery.

Thanks! So far with my dog, her only problem is sensitive stomach. She needs a consistent diet or she becomes ill. But other than that she is incredibly healthy and sound. Max has a very dark face.
